NOTE: We will retain $10 from entries who withdraw before the start of Round 1.

RE-ENTRY: $35. A player who had a disappointing Round 1 can “re-enter” the tournament for Round 2 and receive a Half-point Bye to replace their Round 1 score. The Round 1 game counts for rating points, but the Round 1 loss is replaced with a Half-point Bye. Re-entry also means that any other half-point bye the player requested for a later round will become 0-point byes unless that player decides to play in that round at the time of re-entering the tournament.

PAIRINGS: - The Chief Arbiter/TD will use ratings from the US Chess May 2026 Rating Supplement for pairings and prize awards. The May ’26 Rating Supplement is published by US Chess on or about April 19, 2026. Pairings will be made using the higher of each player’s Over-the-Board (OTB) and Online Regular (slow) ratings from the May Rating Supplement unless the Online rating is “stale” compared to the OTB rating.

Players without a US Chess rating but who have a rating in another system recognized by US Chess (e.g., FIDE, Canada, many foreign countries) will be paired according to the Chief Arbiter/TD’s conversion of their foreign rating. The Chief Arbiter/TD is the final authority for ratings used for each player.

“Unrated” players are not unrated if they acquire a US Chess or FIDE rating by Thursday, May 28th.

TOURNAMENT EQUIPMENT:

Chessboards, pieces, and chess clocks will be provided for all games.

You may use your own.

Use of Electronic Scoresheets is not allowed in the Senior Section unless the player has the approval of the Chief Arbiter. -
